The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cunningham gets a double leg takedown into Hoch's guard.

Hoch wants to control from the top but Cunningham keeps moving.

Hoch won't allow Cunningham to pass to mount.

Cunningham gets tackled into the cage by Hoch. Hoch maintains the clinch.
Cunningham ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cunningham no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cunningham is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hoch is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cunningham wants to control but Hoch passes into side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cunningham knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hoch on the ground.

Cunningham can't do much from the bottom here.
Hoch remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Let's hope that Hoch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Cunningham is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hoch asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Liam Hoch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hoch might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cunningham kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
