The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smok dives in and grabs Chen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chen pushes down on Smok's head and hops out.
Smok misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Chen counters with a three punch combo that has Smok backing up. Smok nods at Chen to acknowledge the strikes.

Smok is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Smok might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Chen has got the better of the exchanges.

Smok postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smok, into his guard.

Smok closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Chen quickly recovers to half guard.

Smok in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Chen tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Smok!
