Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, GameBred Fight Team!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Snake Eater!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eater throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fight Team was covering up waiting for the punch and Eater finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Eater is looking to stand up but Fight Team won't let him.
Eater throws an elbow that misses. Fight Team uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Eater's guard. Nice move by Fight Team!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eater managing to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Snake Eater was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Eater fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fight Team sprawls well initially but Eater persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Eater with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Fight Team is looking to control Eater's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fight Team avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
It looks like Eater might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Eater should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Snake Eater has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Eater throws a head kick that misses
and Fight Team counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Eater shoots in and gets a takedown into Fight Team's guard.
Eater would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Fight Team trying to control the position.
Eater missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Eater is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Snake Eater has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Eater pushes Fight Team up against the cage in a clinch.

Fight Team looking to slow down the pace here.

Eater gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Eater wants to pass the guard but Fight Team is keeping the position.

Eater is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Fight Team is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Fight Team has escaped and now he's on top!
Eater is pulling down on Fight Team's head to control his posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Eater gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Snake Eater has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fight Team is trying to control but Eater passes into side control!

Eater stands up.

Fight Team throws a leg kick but Eater sees it coming and moves out of range.

Eater drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Eater controlling the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Eater tries for a kimura but Fight Team is defending well.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Eater creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Eater controls the position from side control.

Eater stands up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Eater moves out of range of the leg kick from Fight Team.
Fight Team connects with a body shot that sends Eater's belly button to the back.

Eater moves into the clinch.

Eater gets a trip takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Eater seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Eater throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Eater is looking for a kimura here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Eater is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Snake Eater showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Eater feints and as Fight Team raises his hands in defense, Eater changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Eater tries to free his leg and advance position but Fight Team is retaining full guard.
Fight Team preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Eater is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Eater passes Fight Team's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Eater trying to control the pace.
Fight Team is trying to control but can't.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Snake Eater wasn't active enough on the ground.
Fight Team looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fight Team with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Fight Team dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Eater has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fight Team is trying to stall.
Fight Team can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Eater lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Eater is figuring out what he wants to do next.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Snake Eater hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Fight Team throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fight Team wants to land a leg kick but Eater is out of range.
Eater checks a low kick from Fight Team.

Eater drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Eater slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Eater has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Snake Eater was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Eater shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Eater was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
GameBred Fight Team has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Snake Eater is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Eater goes for an armbar but Fight Team turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Fight Team.
