Lindquist kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Wacco Will Kick Your Ass. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Lindquist throws a looping overhand right but Mendez ducks down to avoid it.
Mendez checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lindquist throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lindquist lands a leg kick that knocks Mendez off balance momentarily.
Mendez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lindquist goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lindquist throws a leg kick that misses.
Lindquist swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mendez looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mendez connects with a couple of short punches.
Lindquist tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mendez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Lindquist manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mendez manages to get himself to full guard.
Mendez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lindquist!

Lindquist takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mendez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lindquist is rocked!
Mendez postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Lindquist is out cold - huge knockout for Mendez!
