PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bill Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malachi Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hicks's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bang Your Head. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hicks has taken the fight to the clinch.

Williams breaks the clinch.

Hicks has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hicks tries for a takedown but Williams manages to get underhooks.
Hicks lands a shot to the body.
Hicks prevents Williams from breaking the clinch.
Williams wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Williams lands an elbow just above Hicks 's eye.
Hicks has had enough of the clinch but Williams keeps him there for the moment.
Williams stalls.
The is referee keeping an eye on Hicks - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Hicks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hicks shoots in and bounces Williams off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hicks advances to half guard.
Hicks looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Williams with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hicks winds up and cracks Williams with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hicks seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Williams does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Hicks thows a huge punch but Williams dodges it nicely.

Hicks wants to pass the guard but Williams is defending well.
Hicks lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Williams is looking to get back to full guard here but Hicks has managed to pass to side control instead.

Hicks is working for a guillotine from mount but Williams frees his head quite easily.

Williams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hicks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Williams is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hicks looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Williams tries to hold on but Hicks postures up.

Williams is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Williams keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Williams is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Hicks working for a submission but Williams is keeping him at bay.
Hicks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee warns Williams that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Williams is looking to improve his position but Hicks isn't that keen on the idea.
Williams is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Williams is trying to control the position here but Hicks swings around for an armbar and he's got it! This one is all over, courtesy of a slick submission by Hicks!
