The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gold looks for a takedown but Stan sprawls well.
gold shoots in but Stan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A punch lands to the side of gold 's head but he takes it in his stride.

gold closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
gold prevents Stan from standing back up.
Stan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for gold on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

No joy there for Stan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

gold is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Stan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
