Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norris Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole comes to the cage accompanied by The Offspring - Why Don't You Get A Job. Kenji Rodriguez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenji Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriguez gets caught napping as Cole dives in and scores a takedown. Rodriguez manages to retain guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Rodriguez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cole gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rodriguez keeping moving, preventing Cole from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodriguez wants to sweep but no luck.
Cole tries to free his leg and advance position but Rodriguez is retaining full guard.
Rodriguez looking for a sweep. Not yet Rodriguez, not yet.
Cole slips nicely into half guard.
Rodriguez gets back to full guard.
Rodriguez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rodriguez working a defensive guard but Cole passes into half guard.
Cole passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rodriguez!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rodriguez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Rodriguez defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cole.
Rodriguez sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Cole is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Cole is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rodriguez is just riding it out for now. Cole eventually gives up the hold.
Rodriguez works his way to full guard. Good work.

Rodriguez is looking for a triangle here but Cole uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Cole is trying to get an arm triangle but Rodriguez is defending well.

Rodriguez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cole wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Cole is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rodriguez has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cole looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Rodriguez tries to escape but Cole is in control.

Cole has an Americana. Rodriguez didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cole is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cole hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
