Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kangas Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes into the arena with Try and Catch Me blaring out of the sound system. Thiago Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kangas Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thiago Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan misses with a double jab.
Khan pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Gracie dives in and scores a takedown into Khan's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gracie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Khan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Khan throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.

Gracie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Khan takes the fight into the clinch.
Khan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Gracie struggles to land a body shot inside as Khan controls his hands.
Khan tries to work over Gracie's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Khan tries to break the clinch but Gracie is controlling the position.
Khan prevents a takedown attempt there.
Khan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Khan just misses with a elbow thrown towards Gracie's brow.
Khan is trying to force a seperation but Gracie has the dominant position.
Gracie fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Khan stops a takedown attempt from Gracie.
Khan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Gracie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Khan.
Gracie is looking to score with low kicks.
Khan looks to score with a jab to the body but Gracie is just out of range.
Khan throws a hook but Gracie avoids it easily.

Khan wants to clinch but Gracie slips to the side

and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Khan didn't expect that.
Khan is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea.
Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Khan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gracie forces his way into half guard.

Khan controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Khan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Khan wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Gracie is now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Thiago Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Khan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Khan wants to stand back up but Gracie manages to pass into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Khan is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Khan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Khan is trying to buck Gracie off.

Khan can't do much from the bottom here.

Khan wants to sweep but Gracie has passed to side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kangas Khan will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Khan is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.
Khan throws a low kick, looking for Gracie's leg but Gracie calmly moves out of range.
Khan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kangas Khan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Khan throws a hook to the side of Gracie's head but Gracie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Khan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.

It looks like Thiago Gracie has been cut.
Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Khan closes the distance and clinches.
Gracie misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Khan is working Gracie over against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khan can't find room to land a body shot as Gracie controls the action.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Gracie breaks the clinch.
Khan tries a low kick but Gracie avoids it.
Khan throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.

Kangas Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Khan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gracie counters with a stiff right hand.
Sloppy strikes from Khan. Those never looked like landing.
Khan doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
Khan tests Gracie's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Khan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie.
Gracie just misses with a punch to the body.

Khan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gracie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Khan thows a leg kick but Gracie checks it

and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Gracie trying to control but Khan is working from the bottom.
Khan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kangas Khan showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Khan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
