The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Speer, right into the meat.

Nice tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Speer swivels and escapes.
Speer lands with a kick to the ribs.
Speer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nice has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nice shoots in looking for a takedown. Speer tries to sprawl out of it but Nice keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Speer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Speer moves into the clinch successfully.

Nice changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Speer fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Heinrich Speer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Havea Nice.
Speer connects with a leg kick. Nice looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Nice throws a jab but it's blocked by Speer.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nice tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Speer throws out a leg kick but Nice moves out of range and Speer only half commits.

Nice shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nice was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nice fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Nice lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Speer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Speer tries to get out of the position.

Nice looking to isolate an arm here. Speer doesn't see it coming and as Nice extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Nice!
