Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Overeem Alaister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bob Sappy!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sappy has closed the distance and engaged Alaister in a clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Sappy just misses with a elbow thrown towards Alaister's brow.

Sappy manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Alaister would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sappy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alaister!

Alaister stands and steps away. Sappy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sappy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sappy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sappy wants it to stay on the feet.
Bob Sappy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alaister wants to stand but Sappy is controlling his posture from full guard.

Alaister gets to his feet. Sappy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Alaister leaves Sappy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Alaister looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sappy is fending him off so far but Alaister persists. Nope, Sappy circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Sappy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Sappy shoots in for a takedown but Alaister shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sappy has managed to clinch.

Sappy is trying to push Alaister away but Alaister has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Sappy breaks the clinch.
Sappy tries to close the distance and clinch but Alaister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sappy shoots in looking for a takedown. Alaister tries to sprawl out of it but Sappy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alaister manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sappy drives through and clinches with Alaister against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bob Sappy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sappy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
