Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wanderlei Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Silva trying to hold on to Rogers's head to control him but Rogers postures up.
Rogers slips a nice elbow through Silva's hands, connecting with Silva's forehead.
Rogers looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Rogers is working for a submission of some sort.
Rogers is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rogers to get the leverage.
Rogers scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Rogers passes to side control.
Rogers is trying to get an arm triangle but Silva is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rogers has an Americana. Silva didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rogers is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rogers hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
