Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Smitty Smithers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koki Smokey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smithers comes to the cage accompanied by Ironman - Black Sabbath. Koki Smokey has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Smitty Smithers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Koki Smokey!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smokey shoots in for a double leg but Smithers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Smokey feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Smithers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Smokey trying to control but Smithers is working from the bottom.
Smithers is trying to keep Smokey in close.
Smithers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smithers tries to get out of the position.
Smokey stopping the sweep attempt from Smithers.
Smokey wants to control from the top but Smithers keeps moving.
Smokey controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Koki Smokey has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Smokey thows a left - swing and a miss!

Smithers buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Smithers scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Smithers has Smokey up against the cage in a clinch.
Smokey has Smithers pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Smithers manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Smokey manages to break the clinch.
Smokey shoots in but Smithers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smitty Smithers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koki Smokey.
Smithers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smokey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smithers somewhat.
Smithers dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smokey throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smithers sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Smokey throws a lazy right hand but Smithers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Smokey.
Smokey looks gassed!
Smokey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Smokey has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Smokey there as he acknowledges the shot.
Smithers changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Smokey tries for a takedown but Smithers circles away easily
and Smithers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smithers fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smithers throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smokey stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Smithers connects with a right hand. Smokey shakes it off.
Smokey keeps the fight on the outside.
Smokey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smokey.
Smokey closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Smithers looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Smokey walks into a stiff left hand from Smithers.
Smokey keeps the fight on the outside.
Smithers feints and then cracks Smokey's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smokey down.
Smithers is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Smithers tries to clinch but Smokey moves out of range.
Smokey gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Smithers counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Decent striking displayed by Smithers there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smithers lands a glancing blow to the side of Smokey's head.

Smokey is rocked!
Smithers shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Smokey takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Smithers sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Smokey bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Smitty Smithers!
As Smitty Smithers got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: When you get caught between The Blacksmith and the anvil, your ass will get smashed!'.
