Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Szmyt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert Szmyt has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Szmyt!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szmyt misses with a double jab.
Szmyt looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Szmyt swivels and escapes.
King is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
King throws a head kick but Szmyt moves out of range.
King swats away the attempt to clinch by Szmyt.
King shoots in but no luck this time.
King shoots for a takedown but Szmyt saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Szmyt as he avoids it easily.
King slaps away a takedown attempt from Szmyt, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Szmyt leaves King with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Szmyt is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Szmyt misses with a takedown attempt - King sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
King shoots in and drives through. Szmyt sprawls well.
Szmyt circles away from the clinch attempt.

King closes the distance and pushes Szmyt back into the ropes.

King breaks from the clinch.
King tries for a takedown but Szmyt sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
King shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Szmyt as he jumps to the side.
A left lands for King.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Szmyt sprawls well. Szmyt wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. King gets slowly back to his feet.
Szmyt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side.
King fails in his attempt to clinch.
King moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
King circles away from the clinch attempt.
King feints and then cracks Szmyt's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Szmyt down.
Nice takedown defense from Szmyt. No joy for King on that attempt.
Szmyt tries to clinch but King moves away

so King counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but Szmyt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Szmyt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from King.
Szmyt lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for King!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Szmyt is working for a guillotine from mount but King frees his head quite easily.
Szmyt controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
King tries to hold on but Szmyt pushes him away.
Szmyt landing strikes from the mount and King is in trouble!
Szmyt avoids the attempt from King to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King tries to improve his position but instead Szmyt has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that James King will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


King dives in and grabs Szmyt's left leg, looking for a takedown. Szmyt pushes down on King's head and hops out.

Szmyt shoots in and bounces King off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
King knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Szmyt on the ground.

Szmyt wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.

King is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Szmyt tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King is pulling down on Szmyt's head to control his posture.
King trying to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Szmyt is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Szmyt circles away and we're back to standing.
King swats away the attempt to clinch by Szmyt.
A nice leg kick lands there from King.
Szmyt doesn't manage to clinch there - King circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Szmyt looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for King!
Szmyt tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Szmyt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
King tries to buck Szmyt off but he can't manage it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King is just holding on here. Szmyt manages to take his back.
Will Szmyt go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Good control from Szmyt.
King just trying to survive but Szmyt is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Szmyt is hanging on to King's back as he tries to escape.

Szmyt looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! King taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Robert Szmyt!
Robert Szmyt decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
