PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff MaGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MaGee comes into the arena with I Just Had Sex (feat. Akon) blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MaGee decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Nixon is trying to maintain the position but MaGee is very close to passing his half guard.
MaGee prevents Nixon from improving his position.

MaGee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Nixon desperately trying to maintain half guard.

MaGee is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nixon defends it well.

MaGee is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nixon sees it coming and defends easily.
Nixon wants to control but MaGee is keeping busy.

Nixon is defending against the submission attempts here by MaGee.

MaGee is looking for a kimura but Nixon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for MaGee to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nixon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Nixon has one foot on MaGee's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
MaGee takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That kick from MaGee tenderised Nixon's leg. Nixon is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nixon throws a front kick that sends MaGee stumbling back into the cage.

MaGee fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Nixon to the ground. MaGee is now in Nixon's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nixon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for MaGee!

Nixon is going oldschool here, as he tries to force MaGee to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so MaGee shrugs it off.

Nixon throws some wild stikes that MaGee manages to avoid easily.
Nixon thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
MaGee is desperately trying to improve his position but Nixon has a good base and remains in mount.

Nixon trying to control but MaGee is having none of it.

MaGee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
MaGee shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nixon thumps MaGee with a low kick.

Oh MaGee is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nixon lands a big shot to the head and MaGee winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
