PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malal Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zbermat Serlal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Serlal comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mortal Kombat kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Malal Prime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zbermat Serlal!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prime tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Serlal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Prime is fighting off a takedown attempt but Serlal is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Prime to the mat. Prime regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We're going to have a standup here because Malal Prime wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Serlal looks to land a combination but Prime avoids it well.
Prime throws a head kick that misses.
Prime looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Prime walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Prime shoots in for a takedown but Serlal shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Prime fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Serlal manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prime throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Serlal counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Serlal stuns Prime with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Serlal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Serlal is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Prime rather than just go for the knockout.

Prime is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Serlal's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Prime manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Serlal on his heels. He'll look to pass Serlal's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Serlal bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Prime's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Serlal connects with a nice short shot to Prime's temple.

Prime lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Serlal circles away quickly and effectively.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Serlal checks a leg kick.
Prime shoots for a takedown but Serlal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Prime connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Serlal momentarily.

Serlal connects with a good right hand that stumbles Prime. Prime circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Prime has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Serlal bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Prime's head.

Serlal bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Prime is not content to let Serlal control the position.
Prime takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Serlal with shots to the head and body - Prime looks very uncomfortable down there.


Prime is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Serlal loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Prime scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Serlal land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Serlal stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zbermat Serlal!
A very excited looking Zbermat Serlal made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
