The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt misses the jab.
Schmidt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Spatz counters with a one-two to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Schmidt. Those never looked like landing.
Schmidt misses with a straight right.
Schmidt lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Spatz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Schmidt quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Spatz is trying to work for a kimura but Schmidt is defending well.
Spatz has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Schmidt defend it? Spatz steps over the head and cranks it - Schmidt is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Spatz!
