PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Tompkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Attila Orban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tompkins might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dying Fetus - One Shot, One Kill. Attila Orban will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tompkins swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Orban counters with a right hand to the body.
Tompkins throws the left hand but Orban avoids the punch easily.
Orban jabs Tompkins to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Orban looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Tompkins throws a series of punches but Orban moves out of range.
Steve Tompkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tompkins moves in looking to clinch but Orban pushes him off.
Tompkins throws a right and a left that Orban avoids nicely.
Orban dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Orban wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Orban shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Orban dives in and grabs Tompkins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tompkins pushes down on Orban's head and hops out.

Tompkins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Orban circles away.
Tompkins shoots in and drives through. Orban sprawls well.

Orban changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tompkins tries to avoid it but Orban manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tompkins to the ground. Tompkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Orban fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tompkins manages to avoid it.
Orban lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Orban shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tompkins defends it nicely.
Oh Tompkins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Steve Tompkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Attila Orban.
Orban fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Orban ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Tompkins seems to have got his legs back now.
Orban is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Tompkins rather than just go for the knockout.

Orban stuns Tompkins with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Orban cracks Tompkins with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Tompkins tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Orban pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Tompkins is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
