Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Leroy Goins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Muad Dib!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dib with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Goins to score with a decent uppercut.
Goins connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Dib looks to land a left hand but Goins moved out of range nicely.
Dib throws a looping overhand right but Goins ducks down to avoid it.
Dib fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Goins digs a good hook to Dib's body.
Goins lands a leg kick that knocks Dib off balance momentarily.
Goins lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dib at a distance.
A solid body kick from Goins.
Dib throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Goins tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dib is in Goins's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dib wants to control from the top but Goins keeps moving.
Goins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dib's guard.
Goins is working Dib over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Goins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Goins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Goins lands a front kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dib. Goins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dib moves in looking to clinch but Goins pushes him off.
Goins jabs Dib right on the nose. Dib blinks but takes it well.
Goins's corner calls for a 1-2. Goins obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dib.
Dib throws a lazy uppercut
and Goins makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Dib fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Goins. No joy for Dib on that attempt.
Leroy Goins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Muad Dib.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dib swings away with a body shot that misses
and Goins counters with a nice uppercut.
Dib looks gassed!
Goins cracks Dib with a good jab.
Goins connects with a nice looking jab.
Dib is rocked!
Goins walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Dib drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Goins swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Dib's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
