The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Silva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Stevenson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Stevenson throws a jab but it's blocked by Silva.
Stevenson cracks a nice hook into Silva's ribs.

Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Stevenson did well to prevent Silva getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Silva is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Stevenson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Stevenson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Silva uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stevenson has time to react.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
