Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maurice McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keke Pummel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald staying out of range there.
McDonald fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Pummel checks it well.
Pummel throws an ugly left hook that misses
and McDonald counters with an outside leg kick.
Pummel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McDonald sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pummel swings for the body but McDonald moves out of range.
Pummel connects with a crisp jab.

McDonald tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pummel was well out of range. Poor timing from McDonald.

McDonald chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Pummel can pounce on him.

Pummel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

McDonald connects with a leg kick. Pummel looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Pummel takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McDonald throws a front kick that sends Pummel stumbling back into the cage.

McDonald moves in looking to clinch but Pummel pushes him off.

McDonald is looking to wear down Pummel with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Pummel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McDonald moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Pummel counters with a stiff right hand.
McDonald doesn't manage to clinch there - Pummel circles away.
McDonald takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

No joy there for Pummel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pummel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McDonald moves away.
McDonald thuds his right hand into Pummel's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Pummel lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
McDonald turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Pummel does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
McDonald wants to clinch.
A clash of legs there as Pummel blocks the low kick.
Pummel blocks a low kick nicely.
Pummel looks to throw the jab but McDonald is out of range.
McDonald throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pummel's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Pummel duly obliges.
McDonald throws a body punch but Pummel moves out of range.
McDonald motions for Pummel to come forward. McDonald throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Maurice McDonald will probably get the nod.

Pummel's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and McDonald counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! McDonald looks at the referee who does nothing so McDonald lands a crushing right that sends Pummel to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
