Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Drake Kregwal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Callum King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Drake Kregwal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Callum King!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts King, as that shot connected.
King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kregwal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat.

Kregwal looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Kregwal escapes and gets back to his feet.

Kregwal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. King was covering up waiting for the punch and Kregwal finishes the takedown easily into guard.
King is trying to control the position but Kregwal postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
King throwing shots but Kregwal is blocking nicely.
Kregwal avoiding damage under a succession of punches from King.
King wants to pass to mount but Kregwal is defending the position.

Kregwal manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Kregwal throws a head kick that misses.
Kregwal stuffs the takedown.
King tries to clinch up but Kregwal circles away and keeps his distance.

King darts in and clinches Kregwal up against the cage.
King prevents Kregwal from breaking the clinch.
Kregwal has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. King avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kregwal is trying to pull guard but King turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
King fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Drake Kregwal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Callum King.

King pulls guard successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Callum King.
Kregwal defends well against a solid takedown attempt from King.
Callum King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King has his takedown stuffed

and Kregwal counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Drake Kregwal will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


King swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kregwal shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

King gets back to full guard.
King looking for a sweep. Not yet King, not yet.

Callum King has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
King fails with the takedown.
King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kregwal but Kregwal pushes him off and we're back to square one.
King tries to clinch up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King throws a head kick but Kregwal moves out of range.
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kregwal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kregwal tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but King swivels and escapes.
King looks to throw a body kick
and Kregwal counters with a head kick.
A cross from King lands.
King fails with a takedown attempt.
Drake Kregwal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Callum King.
King is breathing heavily.
Kregwal checks a leg kick nicely.

Kregwal slips a jab and a cross from King.
Kregwal circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kregwal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
King is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kregwal sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kregwal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says King as he avoids it easily.

King bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kregwal's head backwards.
Kregwal tries a head kick but it misses.
King throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
King shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Callum King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


King fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kregwal manages to avoid it.
Kregwal shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense.
Kregwal fails to land the takedown.
King throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Kregwal throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and King moves into the clinch.
King has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kregwal after a bit of a struggle.

Kregwal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kregwal moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kregwal's waist but Kregwal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing King off to one side.

King gets a clinch.

King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

King takes the fight into the clinch.
Kregwal tries to break free but King pushes him back against the cage.
Kregwal throws an elbow but it misses.
Kregwal is trying to break the clinch but King has him pressed against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King leaning his opponent against the cage.
Kregwal tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and King avoids it.
Kregwal misses with an elbow over the top.
Kregwal is looking to break free of the clinch but King has double underhooks.
King wants a takedown.
Drake Kregwal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Callum King.
Kregwal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as King walks away with a smile on his face. Kregwal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
King fails to land the takedown.
Jab, jab by King - just one landing.

King gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kregwal counters with a big head kick but King shrugs it off.
King tries to clinch but Kregwal moves out of range.
Kregwal shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. King defends it nicely.
King wants to clinch up but Kregwal keeps it at a distance.
Drake Kregwal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
King tries to clinch there but Kregwal circles away.
King misses with the body kick

and Kregwal decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in King's guard.
King lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kregwal!
King wants to control the pace but Kregwal is squirming around nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Callum King.
I think King has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
