PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Yuen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathanial Hornblower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yuen fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hornblower on the side of the head.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hornblower checks a leg kick.
Yuen misses with a wild body shot.

Yuen tries to sprawl but Hornblower drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Yuen tries to get to full guard but Hornblower has control of the leg.
Yuen missing with punches from the bottom.
Hornblower is nestled in close to Yuen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hornblower seems to be working for a kimura but Yuen defends the submission attempt.

Hornblower is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Yuen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hornblower.

Hornblower goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Yuen is on top in guard.
Hornblower has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hornblower bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yuen's guard.

Yuen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Yuen attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Hornblower fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Yuen to the ground. Hornblower is now in Yuen's guard.

Hornblower is working for a kimura but Yuen is defending it quite comfortably.
Yuen is not content to let Hornblower control the position.
Hornblower is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Yuen reverses the position - he's now on top in Hornblower's guard.
Hornblower is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Yuen is looking for a sweep. Hornblower is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hornblower is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yuen is just riding it out for now. Hornblower eventually gives up the hold.
Yuen tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hornblower has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Hornblower can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Yuen is looking to escape.
Yuen is trying desperately to improve position.

Hornblower has hold of Yuen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Yuen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
