PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kamil Stachu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stachu comes to the cage accompanied by Nickelback-Fight for all the Wrong Reasons. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kamil Stachu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stan Marsh!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh lands an overhand right.
Marsh stuns Stachu with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Stachu rushes Marsh and presses him up against the cage.
Stachu keeps control of Marsh as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Marsh doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Stachu works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Stachu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Marsh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Marsh is looking to stand up but Stachu isn't so interested in that idea.
Stachu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stachu not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Marsh is looking to stand up but Stachu isn't so interested in that idea.

Stachu wants to control from the top but Marsh keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kamil Stachu wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Marsh displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stachu.
Stan Marsh is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stachu takes one to the chin there.
Stachu tries to move into range but Marsh moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Stan Marsh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stachu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Marsh lunges at Stachu with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Stachu's hand.
Marsh ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Marsh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Stachu doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Marsh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kamil Stachu. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Marsh lands a nice hook to Stachu's body. Stachu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Marsh is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Stachu is breathing heavily.
Stachu takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Stachu takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A shot to the liver by Marsh. Beautiful body shot.
Marsh ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Marsh cracks Stachu with a right hand to the side of the head.
Stachu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Marsh has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Marsh connects with a looping right hand.

Stachu is rocked!
Marsh is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Stachu flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Stachu is out cold! Marsh holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
