Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamikaze Sazuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kamikaze Sazuki will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kamikaze Sazuki!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sazuki throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sazuki can do anything to dispel that myth.

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Sazuki didn't expect that.
Jones stands and throws Sazuki's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jones sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sazuki is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The strikes coming from Jones are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Sazuki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Jones.

Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sazuki's guard.
Jones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sazuki shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sazuki pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jones back to the cage. Sazuki follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Sazuki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sazuki throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Sazuki scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sazuki throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it.
Jones throws a hook to the side of Sazuki's head but Sazuki sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Jones tries to clinch but Sazuki is having none of it.

Sazuki misses with an uppercut. Jones saw that one coming.
Sazuki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A jab lands there for Sazuki.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Jones perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Jones seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Michael Jones will probably get the nod.

Sazuki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Jones feints and as Sazuki raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jones is taking a breather. Sazuki says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jones postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sazuki looks a forlorn figure.
Michael Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
