PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Dickinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Sloop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dickinson comes to the cage accompanied by turisas- stand up and fight. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Josh Sloop was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Will Dickinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh Sloop!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickinson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Sloop misses with a series of wild punches.
Sloop throws a shot to the body.
Dickinson closes the distance and clinches up with Sloop, looking for a takedown. Dickinson pushes Sloop against the cage but Sloop circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Left hook, right uppercut from Sloop.


It looks like Will Dickinson has been cut.
Sloop cracks Dickinson with an open hand slap.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sloop throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sloop lands a jab to the head.

Dickinson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Dickinson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sloop knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Will Dickinson will probably get the nod.

Sloop throws a series of strikes that have Dickinson backpedaling.

Dickinson closes the distance and clinches.
Sloop is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dickinson controlling the action here for a moment.
Dickinson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sloop lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Come on Dickinson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Dickinson is trying to trip Sloop. He has hold of a leg but Sloop is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dickinson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Sloop wants to stand and escape but Dickinson is having none of it.
Sloop can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dickinson controls the pace.

Dickinson wants to control from the top but Sloop keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Will Dickinson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sloop throws a right and a left that both miss.

Dickinson has picked Sloop up - he's going for a ride! Dickinson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Dickinson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sloop doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dickinson.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dickinson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sloop's shoulder. That is not cool.

Dickinson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sloop to see if he's OK.

Dickinson tries to score with some ground and pound. Sloop controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dickinson wants to control but Sloop is keeping him busy.
Josh Sloop has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Dickinson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dickinson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
