Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Gracie duly obliges.
Al Aziz bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gracie's head.
It looks like Royce Gracie has been cut.
Gracie slips a straight right by Al Aziz.
Al Aziz digs a good hook to Gracie's body.

Gracie shoots for a takedown but Al Aziz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Gracie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gracie bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Gracie looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Gracie pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Al Aziz back to the cage. Gracie follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Al Aziz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round.

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
Al Aziz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Gracie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Al Aziz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Al Aziz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gracie feints and as Al Aziz raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Al Aziz wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.

Al Aziz wriggles free and stands up.

Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Al Aziz counters with a left and a right that stings Gracie.
A telegraphed right hand from Al Aziz misses the target.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Al Aziz tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Al Aziz to the ground. Al Aziz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hassan Al Aziz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce Gracie.
Al Aziz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

That has opened up Royce Gracie's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Al Aziz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
