Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hatsu Hioki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tobias Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker has chosen The Rapture - Echos as his entrance music. Hatsu Hioki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hatsu Hioki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tobias Walker!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Hioki counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Hioki drops back, looking for a kneebar! Walker looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Walker looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Walker!

Walker goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hioki has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Walker but great work by Hioki.

Walker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hioki moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Walker has worked his arm free - good work by Walker!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Walker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hioki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hioki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

and Hioki counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Hioki wants to work for an arm triangle but Walker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hioki swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Walker is now in Hioki's guard. A big mistake from Hioki there, giving up the dominant position!

Hioki has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Walker's face.

Hioki is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Walker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Walker shrugs it off.

Hioki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hioki misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
