PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jhonny Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zirry Swan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swan has chosen Blame it on my ADD as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jhonny Cage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zirry Swan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cage takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Swan rushes Cage and presses him up against the cage.
Cage can't break the clinch.

Swan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A head kick by Cage misses
and Swan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Cage throws a sloppy head kick
and Swan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Swan tries to clinch but Cage is having none of it.
Swan stuns Cage with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Cage on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Swan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Swan counters with a left to the body.
A nice inside leg kick there by Swan. That's going to slow Cage down.
Cage is breathing heavily.

Swan darts in and clinches Cage up against the cage.

Swan breaks the clinch.
Swan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cage throws a head kick that misses
and Swan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A nice leg kick lands there from Swan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Swan makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Swan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and Swan counters with a left and a right that stings Cage.
Swan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cage.
Swan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cage. That did some damage!
Swan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Cage needs to keep his hands up - Swan had a free shot at his head there.
Good leg kick by Swan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Swan lands a leg kick that knocks Cage off balance momentarily.

Swan rushes Cage and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Swan scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Cage misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Swan.

Swan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Swan is pushing Cage up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Cage is trying to break the clinch but Swan is controlling him.
Swan scores with a shoulder strike.

Swan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Swan throws a leg kick which misses Cage's front leg but catches the back leg as Cage tries to avoid it.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Swan.

Cage tries to keep at a distance but Swan has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cage misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Swan.

Cage is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Swan is defending well for now.

Jhonny Cage's cut is getting worse.
Swan lands with a left to the head.

Swan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Cage tries to break free but Swan pushes him back against the cage.

Swan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cage throws a head kick that misses
and Swan counters with an outside leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice uppercut lands for Swan. That snapped Cage's head back.
Swan works Cage's body with a nice hook.
Swan lands a nice shot to the body.

Swan closes the distance and clinches.
Cage can't find room to land a body shot as Swan controls the action.
A knee to the head by Swan.

Jhonny Cage's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cage is trying to stall.

Swan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zirry Swan dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Cage throws a lazy head kick
and Swan counters with a straight right hand.
Swan throws a quick inside leg kick.
Swan scores with a kick to the midsection.
Cage misses with a combination
and Cage takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Swan lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Cage misses with a double jab
and Swan counters with a body kick that stops Cage in his tracks momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Swan lands an overhand right.

Cage is rocked!
Swan lands a leg kick that knocks Cage off balance momentarily.
Oh Cage is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A slapping leg kick lands for Swan.
Cage seems to have got his legs back now.
Cage misses with a double jab

and Swan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Swan.
Still in the clinch, Swan scores with a nice short uppercut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Swan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Swan lands a nice looking body shot.
Cage throws a lazy head kick
enabling Swan to counter with a crisp jab.

Jeez, Jhonny Cage's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Swan moves into the clinch.
Swan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Swan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Swan drops Cage onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Cage is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jhonny Cage's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
