The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suggs throws a head kick that misses.
A head kick misses from Suggs.
Suggs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Suggs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sumi swings for the body but Suggs moves out of range.
Suggs throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sumi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sumi.
Suggs tries a head kick but it misses.
Sumi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Suggs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Suggs looks for the body kick but Sumi saw that one coming.

and Suggs counters with a head kick. That will keep Sumi thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
The fight stays on the outside here - Sumi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Suggs throws a head kick that misses
and Sumi counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Sumi shoots in for a double leg but Suggs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bekuto Sumi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sumi tries to clinch but Suggs moves out of range.

Sumi takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Whack! Suggs lands a heavy head kick that drops Sumi. The ref tackles Suggs to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Sumi was done.
