Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Flight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaunn Chen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Thomas Flight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shaunn Chen!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chen wants to clinch.
Flight lands with a shot to the body.
Chen on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Flight delivers a nice body kick.
Chen is looking to clinch but Flight is avoiding it.
Flight bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Flight throws the kick towards the body but Chen avoids it.
Flight stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Chen fails with an attempt to clinch.

Chen on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Flight is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Flight lands a nice looking kick to the body. Chen takes a step back to recover.

Flight tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Chen's elbow.
Chen has a couple of punches blocked by Flight.

Flight can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Flight tries to throw a body punch but Chen avoids it by throwing Flight back against the ropes.

Flight lands a right hand that snaps the head of Chen backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Thomas Flight will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Chen tries to clinch but Flight moves out of range.
Flight explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Flight connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Flight misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chen.
Chen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Chen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Chen wants to slow Flight down by chopping away at his legs.

Flight drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Chen is not content to let Flight control the position.

Flight works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Flight in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The ground and pound from Flight seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Flight has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Chen!
Flight lands a nice shot to the head.
Flight landing strikes from the mount.
Flight fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Chen is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Flight loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Chen scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Flight land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Flight stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Flight!
Thomas Flight decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
