Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mixalis Pavlis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kerr comes to the cage accompanied by Scotland The Brave [Instrumental]. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Mixalis Pavlis enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tom Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mixalis Pavlis!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Pavlis.
Kerr throws a jab but it's blocked by Pavlis.

Pavlis lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Kerr sprawling to the canvas. Pavlis follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Kerr hang on?

It looks like Tom Kerr has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Pavlis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kerr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mixalis Pavlis wasn't active enough on the ground.

Pavlis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kerr dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pavlis throws a right and a left that both miss.

A lazy left from Kerr finds it's target.
Kerr lands a slapping body shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kerr ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pavlis moves away.

Kerr shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pavlis is trying to defend but Kerr finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Kerr winds up and cracks Pavlis with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pavlis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kerr scores with a couple of nice shots.

Pavlis is looking to escape.
Kerr wants to advance to full mount but Pavlis doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Kerr keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pavlis's head.
Pavlis wants to get back to his feet but Kerr is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pavlis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kerr defends it easily.

Pavlis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kerr's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tom Kerr will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Pavlis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pavlis.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pavlis pushes Kerr away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kerr gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kerr cracks Pavlis with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Pavlis is still in real trouble! Can Kerr finish him?
A big shot lands for Kerr! That's hurt Pavlis! Will he recover? Kerr fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom Kerr!
After the fight, Tom Kerr was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
