PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Jutsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barros El Toro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Jutsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Barros El Toro!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jutsu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching El Toro on his heels. He'll look to pass El Toro's guard now, I'm sure.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jutsu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. El Toro is trying to defend but Jutsu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Jutsu looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Barros El Toro has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Jutsu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jutsu passes to full mount! That's big trouble for El Toro!
El Toro wants to hold on but Jutsu pushes him away.

Jutsu looking to finish El Toro with some ground and pound. This is bad for El Toro!
Jutsu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jutsu could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We're going to have a standup here because Johnny Jutsu wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
El Toro tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jutsu swivels and escapes.

Jutsu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but El Toro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jutsu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Jutsu tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jutsu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


El Toro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jutsu as he avoids it easily.
Jutsu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
El Toro throws a low kick but Jutsu moves out of range easily.

so Jutsu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jutsu engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Johnny Jutsu just wasn't active enough.
El Toro misses with a takedown attempt - Jutsu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnny Jutsu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barros El Toro.

Jutsu scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Jutsu passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for El Toro!

Jutsu is landing with some decent strikes but El Toro is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jutsu cracks El Toro with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jutsu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jutsu looking to secure an arm triangle but El Toro defends it well.
El Toro tries to get back to half guard but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jutsu tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


El Toro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jutsu stuffs the takedown attempt from El Toro. El Toro gets slowly back to his feet.
El Toro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Jutsu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jutsu.
Jutsu not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jutsu passes easily into side control. Nice work.
El Toro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jutsu creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
A lull in the action here as Jutsu stalls from top position.

Jutsu swings around for an armbar but El Toro sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jutsu's guard.
Jutsu has his hands on El Toro's head, controlling the position.
Jutsu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

El Toro defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jutsu.

Jutsu shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jutsu seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Johnny Jutsu showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jutsu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
