The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGirt shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoffman tries to sprawl out of it but McGirt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoffman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hoffman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McGirt is trying to defend but Hoffman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hoffman content to control rather than advance.

McGirt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoffman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McGirt has a hand on Hoffman's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hoffman takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
