The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Smith is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Galea can't fight it off and eventually Smith manages to take the fight to the floor. Galea looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Smith drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Galea manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Smith has Galea in his guard.
Galea should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Smith wants to improve his position but instead Galea has moved into half guard.
Smith tries to roll over but Galea keeps him under control.
Galea wants to control but Smith is keeping him busy.
Smith tries to get to full guard but Galea has control of the leg.
Galea works his foot free and advances to mount.

Galea is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Smith defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
