The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mir IV shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mir IV was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Smith wants to hold on but Mir IV pushes him away.

Mir IV goes for an armbar but Smith turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Smith.

Smith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mir IV is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Mir IV is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.
Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Smith is looking to stand up but Mir IV won't let him.
Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Smith gets to his feet - Mir IV follows without any prompting.

Smith cracks Mir IV with a right hand to the side of the head.

James Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Smith pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mir IV is out of range and Smith settles back down.
Smith goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Smith lands with a right that hurts Mir IV. Mir IV looks to clinch but Smith throws a short knee that drops Mir IV. This one is all over!
