Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Seth Alexis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seth Alexis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Duncan closes the distance looking to clinch

so Alexis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Alexis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duncan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alexis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Alexis gets to his feet. Duncan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Alexis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Duncan's waist but Duncan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alexis off to one side.

Duncan has taken the fight to the clinch.

Alexis lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alexis is looking to take a break and control but Duncan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Duncan is trying to stand up here but Alexis is controlling him well.
Alexis misses with a head shot. Duncan uses the momentum to regain guard.
Duncan wants to get back to his feet but Alexis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Alexis wants to control from the top but Duncan keeps moving.
Alexis won't allow Duncan to get back to his feet.

Alexis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Duncan is looking to stand up but Alexis isn't so interested in that idea.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Seth Alexis wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Alexis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Duncan sprawls well. Duncan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alexis gets slowly back to his feet.
Duncan doesn't manage to clinch there - Alexis circles away.
Duncan lands with a kick to the ribs.

Duncan is looking to clinch but Alexis is avoiding it.
Cody Duncan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alexis gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alexis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Duncan is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Duncan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alexis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alexis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duncan is trying to buck Alexis off.

Alexis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Duncan, who protects the arm well.

Duncan sneaks out the side door and pushes Alexis away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alexis keeps the fight on the outside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duncan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alexis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Alexis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Duncan tries to clinch up but Alexis circles away and keeps his distance.
Duncan misses with a few strikes there.
Alexis on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Duncan. Duncan obviously looking to wear him down.
Duncan throws a head kick that misses.

Alexis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Duncan quickly recovers to half guard.
Duncan is trying to stand back up but Alexis is controlling him

Alexis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Alexis is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Duncan has managed to free his arm - good work.

Duncan is trying to stand up here but Alexis is controlling him well.
Alexis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Duncan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alexis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Alexis avoids the head kick by Duncan.

Duncan closes the distance and clinches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alexis can't get the takedown.
Duncan prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Alexis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

That was a close second round but I would say that Seth Alexis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Alexis.

Duncan has Alexis up against the cage in a clinch.
Duncan tries to stall but Alexis uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Duncan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Alexis.

Alexis is trying to drag Duncan to the mat but Duncan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Duncan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Alexis blocks it with crossed arms.

Alexis misses with a takedown attempt - Duncan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Duncan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alexis.
Duncan tries to clinch up.
Duncan connects with a leg kick. Alexis looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Duncan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alexis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alexis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Duncan looks to score with a jab to the body but Alexis is just out of range.
Alexis takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Duncan tries to close the distance and clinch but Alexis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Duncan wants to clinch up but Alexis keeps it at a distance.
Duncan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Alexis eats them both and turns towards Duncan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Duncan throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Duncan tries to close the distance and clinch but Alexis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A head kick misses from Duncan.
Alexis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Alexis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Duncan as he avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Duncan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Duncan breaks from the clinch.
Cody Duncan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Seth Alexis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Duncan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cody Duncan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Alexis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
