The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wayne is defended easily by Lesnar.
Lesnar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lesnar wants it to stay on the feet.
Lesnar throws a sloppy head kick and Wayne moves out of range easily.
Rocked Lesnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lesnar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wayne closes the distance and clinches up with Lesnar, looking for a takedown. Wayne pushes Lesnar against the cage but Lesnar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Wayne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wayne takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Lesnar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wayne to the ground. Lesnar is now in Wayne's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Wayne is trying to keep Lesnar in close.
Wayne is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Lesnar has his hands clasped together but Wayne extends an breaks Lesnar's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Wayne.
