PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erik Everlast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niko Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bronson has chosen ACDC - If You Want Blood You Got It as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erik Everlast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Niko Bronson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Everlast catches Bronson right on the button with a cross.

A big head kick from Bronson and Everlast is sent sprawling to the canvas!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bronson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Everlast's guard.
Bronson is keen to just control but Everlast is a slippery customer.

Bronson is looking for a kimura but Everlast is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bronson to get the leverage.

Bronson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Bronson is trying to work for a kimura but Everlast is defending well.

Bronson is working for a submission of some sort.

Everlast is not content to let Bronson control the position.

Everlast is defending against the submission attempts here by Bronson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bronson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Bronson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Everlast doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bronson.
Bronson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Everlast does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bronson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Everlast is just riding it out for now. Bronson eventually gives up the hold.
Everlast is looking for a sweep. Bronson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Everlast pushes Bronson off but Bronson dives into side control.

That's time! Everlast's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Bronson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bronson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bronson throwing strikes here but Everlast is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Bronson won't let Everlast get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Bronson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Everlast is now in Bronson's guard. A big mistake from Bronson there, giving up the dominant position!
Everlast has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Everlast wants to get up but he can't break Bronson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Everlast gets to his feet - Bronson follows without any prompting.
Everlast throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Everlast swats away the attempt to clinch by Bronson.

Everlast lands a nice shot that snaps Bronson's head back.
Everlast throws a looping overhand right but Bronson ducks down to avoid it.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bronson.

Bronson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Everlast is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bronson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Bronson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Everlast has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bronson but great work by Everlast.

Everlast decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bronson to his feet.
Everlast lands a slapping body shot.
Bronson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Everlast sprawls well. Everlast wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bronson gets slowly back to his feet.
Everlast digs a good hook to Bronson's body.
Everlast throws a series of punches but Bronson avoids them all with ease.
Everlast lands the left hand.
Niko Bronson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Bronson.
Bronson looks for a takedown but Everlast sprawls well.
Erik Everlast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Niko Bronson.
Bronson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Everlast tries to avoid it but Bronson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Everlast to the ground. Everlast escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Everlast thows a body shot but no joy.
Everlast misses the shot to the body.
Bronson walks into a stiff left hand from Everlast.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bronson shoots in for a takedown but Everlast shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Everlast lands with a nice body punch.
Everlast lands with an overhand left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Erik Everlast will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Everlast is trying to control the position but Bronson postures up.
Everlast knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bronson on the ground.

Bronson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Everlast is keeping the position for now.
Bronson won't allow Everlast to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bronson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Everlast looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Everlast looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Everlast!

Everlast decides to stand back up. Everlast steps back and let's Bronson get back to his feet.

Bronson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Everlast paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Everlast throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Bronson dives in and grabs Everlast's left leg, looking for a takedown. Everlast pushes down on Bronson's head and hops out.

Everlast is looking to slow Bronson down with leg kicks.

and Bronson counters with a head kick. That will keep Everlast thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Everlast sizes up Bronson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Everlast's corner calls for a 1-2. Everlast obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Everlast jabbing away but nothing is landing.
