Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raphael Bowie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugh Jontop!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jontop stuffs the takedown attempt from Bowie. Bowie gets slowly back to his feet.
A punch combination from Jontop misses.
Jontop connects with a high kick.

Bowie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Jontop is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jontop is looking to stand up but Bowie isn't so interested in that idea.
Bowie controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Jontop tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bowie is in close to Jontop's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Bowie is working Jontop over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Bowie pushes down on Jontop's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Bowie wants to take a breather but Jontop is having none of it.

Bowie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jontop has managed to free his arm - good work.

Bowie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jontop is just riding it out for now. Bowie eventually gives up the hold.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jontop tries to kick Bowie off but Bowie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bowie seems to be working for a kimura but Jontop defends the submission attempt.
Bowie throwing shots but Jontop is blocking nicely.
Jontop pushes Bowie off but Bowie dives into side control.

You can see the frustration on Jontop's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jontop is not content to let Bowie control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bowie is trying to get an arm triangle but Jontop is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jontop is looking for a sweep.
Jontop takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Bowie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jontop pushes Bowie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bowie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
An elbow from Bowie crashes against the mat.
Jontop is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bowie asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Bowie throws a series of punches but Jontop moves out of range.
Jontop with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bowie to score with a decent uppercut.

Bowie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jontop did well to prevent Bowie getting side control.
Raphael Bowie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bowie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Bowie prevents Jontop from standing back up.
Jontop is not content to let Bowie control the position.

Bowie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jontop sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bowie winds up and cracks Jontop with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Bowie is trying to control the action in half guard but Jontop is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bowie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jontop with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jontop tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Bowie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jontop keeps working.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jontop is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Bowie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jontop knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bowie scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jontop to see if he's OK.

It looks like Hugh Jontop has been cut.

Bowie connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bowie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jontop looks a forlorn figure.

Hugh Jontop's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hugh Jontop's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
