Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stem Cell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Messinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Messinger comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Huckleberry by Ichabod kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Messinger keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Will Messinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cell fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Messinger has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cell looks to score with a jab to the body but Messinger is just out of range.

Messinger is looking for a sweep. Cell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Messinger fails to land the takedown.
Cell is looking to wear down Messinger with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cell works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Cell has Messinger pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Messinger manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Messinger is trying to drag Cell to the mat but Cell just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Cell stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Messinger manages to avoid it.
Cell lands a nice looking body shot.
Messinger tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Messinger somewhat.

Cell darts in and clinches Messinger up against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Messinger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cell defends it easily.

Cell lands a nice hook to Messinger's body. Messinger takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Messinger looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cell lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Messinger has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Messinger and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Cell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cell is looking to advance position but Messinger won't allow it.
Messinger is looking for a sweep. Cell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
