Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bekuto Sumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JB Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sumi gets caught napping as Costa dives in and scores a takedown. Sumi manages to retain guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Costa drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sumi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sumi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sumi!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Costa can do anything to dispel that myth.
Costa manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Costa wants to work for an arm triangle but Sumi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Costa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sumi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Costa has Sumi in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Costa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sumi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well Costa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
