The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGill swats away the attempt to clinch by Heartman.
Heartman is looking to clinch but McGill is avoiding it.
McGill tries to clinch but Heartman moves out of range.
Heartman wants to clinch

and McGill counters with a shoot takedown. Heartman fights it but they end up in guard.
McGill not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Heartman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McGill won't allow Heartman to get back to his feet.
Heartman is wriggling around but McGill manages to pass to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McGill is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
