The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bueno lands a slapping body shot.
Hitachi shoots for a double leg takedown but Bueno sprawls well. He's pushed Hitachi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hitachi.
Hitachi shoots and misses
and Bueno counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Philco Hitachi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bueno throws a nice looking combination but Hitachi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hitachi is defended easily by Bueno.

Bueno has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hitachi is trying to keep an underhook but Bueno manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Bueno is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Bueno takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Well, if Bueno is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bueno is taking a breather. Hitachi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bueno tries to advance to mount but can't.
Bueno has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bueno remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Bueno jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hitachi manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Bueno is putting a hurting on Hitachi here, landing some big shots from side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Bueno scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hitachi to see if he's OK.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hitachi throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
You can see the frustration on Hitachi's face as Bueno controls the position.
Bueno has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hitachi is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Bueno yanks on the arm and Hitachi is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Bueno.
