The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva thows a body shot but no joy.
Belfort looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.
Silva throws a big shot that misses.
Belfort connects with a jab.
Belfort digs a good hook to Silva's body.
Belfort throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Belfort scores with a punch to the head.
Belfort jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Belfort keeps the fight on the outside.
Belfort sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Belfort manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Silva fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Belfort. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet.

Belfort takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Belfort swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Silva cracks Belfort with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Belfort circles away quickly and effectively.
Silva throws a leg kick but Belfort checks it.
Silva takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Silva misses with a few strikes there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Belfort.

Belfort wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Belfort finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva drops his hands momentarily. Belfort doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Silva staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Silva doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
