Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Monroe Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Studebaker Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawk comes into a darkened arena with his song building. silver hawk kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Monroe Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Studebaker Hawk!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jackson defends it nicely.
Jackson tries to clinch up but Hawk circles away and keeps his distance.
Jackson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jackson misses with a body shot.
Jackson throws a push kick but Hawk slaps the foot to one side.
Jackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hawk.
Monroe Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson looking to score a takedown here. Hawk is defending well but Jackson drives through and ends up in Hawk's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jackson won't allow Hawk to sweep him here.

Jackson wants to control from the top but Hawk keeps moving.
Hawk has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Jackson has passed into side control.
Hawk is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Jackson drops an elbow to the side of Hawk's head.
Jackson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hawk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hawk tries to get to full guard but Jackson has control of the leg.

Jackson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hawk closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Hawk pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Monroe Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Studebaker Hawk.

Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hawk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jackson is on top in guard.

Hawk is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jackson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jackson has escaped and now he's on top!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jackson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Hawk shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.
Hawk shoots in but Jackson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hawk shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Monroe Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Studebaker Hawk.

and Hawk decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jackson's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jackson controls Hawk momentarily but Hawk frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson has his feet on Hawk's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Jackson slaps away a takedown attempt from Hawk, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Jackson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hawk on his heels. He'll look to pass Hawk's guard now, I'm sure.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawk keeps working.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hawk enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hawk manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jackson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hawk looks a forlorn figure.

Hawk sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Jackson wants to take a breather but Hawk is having none of it.

We're going to have a standup here because Monroe Jackson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
