The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Golem closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Van Regtherhoecken on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Van Regtherhoecken moves in looking to clinch but Golem pushes him off.
Van Regtherhoecken throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Golem's waist but Golem gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Van Regtherhoecken off to one side.
Golem dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Golem has Van Regtherhoecken pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Van Regtherhoecken is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Golem - that's hurt Van Regtherhoecken badly! Oh, another knee lands and Van Regtherhoecken is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Van Regtherhoecken doesn't seem to be complaining.
