The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Marco Chaves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Chaves dives on top into guard.
Jackson wants to sweep here but Chaves controlling him for the moment.
Chaves must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Chaves stands and throws Jackson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Chaves tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chaves has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jackson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chaves swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jackson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Chaves defend it? Jackson steps over the head and cranks it - Chaves is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jackson!
