Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gimli Gloin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thijs Van Diep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gimli Gloin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thijs Van Diep!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gloin throws a lazy right hand but Van Diep sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gloin throws a hook to the side of Van Diep's head but Van Diep sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gloin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Van Diep.
Van Diep is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gimli Gloin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gloin fails to land with a series of punches.

Gloin drops Van Diep with a left and a right! Oh, Van Diep is hurt - Gloin dives into side control looking to finish!


It looks like Thijs Van Diep has been cut.

Gloin works to advance to full mount. Van Diep defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Gloin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Van Diep can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Gloin has control of Van Diep's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Van Diep regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gloin is working for a guillotine from mount but Van Diep frees his head quite easily.

Van Diep really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gloin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gloin has hold of Van Diep's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Van Diep manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Van Diep is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Gloin looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gloin has isolated one of Van Diep's arms. Van Diep looking to fight him off but Gloin twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
