Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Draven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gil Gilbert!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draven tries a head kick but it misses.
Draven lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Draven throws a hook but Gilbert avoids it easily.
Draven throws a lazy head kick
and Gilbert counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gilbert.
Draven prevents the takedown attempt.
Draven wants the takedown. Gilbert is fighting it off but Draven persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gilbert's guard against the cage.
Gilbert is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gilbert is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Draven rolls with it to try and escape but Gilbert cranks on the arm and Draven is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
