The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pelkko tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pelkko to the ground. Pelkko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smith wants to clinch.

Pelkko shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Smith is trying to defend but Pelkko finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Pelkko is looking for a kimura here.
Pelkko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Smith is looking to control Pelkko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Smith avoid being mounted?
